Blog Waffle Over Coffee

Blog Waffle Over Coffee

The Waffle...

This started out as a serious Blog, it still is, but I changed direction somewhere along the way, not exactly losing my way, but adding and exploring trails. Instead of becoming the personal political, aspirations and lifestyle blog, it grew, and then it grew some more and finally spawned new blogs, as it will continue to do. My blog has become a project, I have changed the theme to a VARIETY Blog, it still has significant traces of the original, but I have decided to share my warped sense of humour, my love of planes and old things and my travels. It is here for you to enjoy as much as for my own edification in seeing some of my life paraded for posterity, it is almost “cyberautobiographical” in its peculiar way.

My Music

I Like music, most music, I even find some merit in Country & Western (Sertaneja - Brazil).

The two groups shown here would have to be my favourites, although I like orchestral (Hugo Montenegro), classical (Vivaldi - Nigel Kennedy), most of the older pop groups (Beatles - before Sgt Pepper), musicals (Andrew Lloyd Webber),Celtic stuff - Clannad & Enya), outrageous stuff (Queen & David Bowie), comedy (Ray Stevens - I like a laugh)

But Sky has accompanied me in my travels around South America, it has been to the altiplano in Bolivia, the jungles in Peru and across San Pedro de Atacama (the driest desert in the world) in Chile. Toccata and other stuff has helped me drink beer, meet people and kept me sane.

Fantasy Art

Fantasy Art
I like this stuff. It stretches the imagination. It’s not always in the best of taste, but reflects many aspects of our world in a surrealist form. It’s the stuff of our dreams and nightmares, it’s the stuff that went “bump” in the night when we were kids, it shows us the bogey man and the fairy godmother that hides within us all. It can show us where we will/may/might go after this earthly life is done, or where we could have come from... it can show us anything.

PERU

During 1997 and 1998 I travelled extensively throughout Peru. Later I lived in several places until 2001.

Here are some of the photos that I took, places that I only once dreamed of being, photos of some of the people I met and things that I found.

Come with me on a trip around Peru:

I love planes

I have been "plane-crazy" since I was a kid. My bedroom was a trap; model planes in mock battles everywhere.

In my first high school year I joined the Air Training Corps as a cadet where I many opportunities t get real close to these metal birds and in some cases even fly in the things.

The following are some neat photos, well, I think they're neat photos of some of my favourites.

Hope you enjoy them too.

Blog "Things That Fly" has been created for the plane pix.

Images of Space - The final Frontier (or is it?)
These are images taken from real space. Things that are so big and awesome as to defy the imagination. Try thinking about how big space is... you’ll give up with your head in a spin. For us the idea is beyond our conception, so we need to bow and be humbled by its existance.
